20. ‘Dramamine’ by Modest MouseThis Is A Long Drive For Someone For Nothing To Think About

The opening and stand-out track from the appropriately titled This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, ‘Dramamine’ is a masterful piece of indie rock minimalism. The band’s hypnotic, propulsive rhythms and echoing guitar attack weld perfectly with Isaac Brock’s angry wailing about motion-sickness pills. Modest Mouse’s early albums all seemed to be preoccupied with the Pacific Northwest highways, and ‘Dramamine’ is the beginning of that obsession.
