‘I Get Around’ is one of the finest of the early Beach Boys singles, and one that helped define the California rock ‘n’ roll scene at the beginning of the 1960s. The song also illustrates why the band were viewed by music critics as a considerable rival to the perfect pop prowess of England’s The Beatles. Brian Wilson & company’s barbershop-quartet harmonies and the euphoric, blissful melody of the song really get you in the mood to hit the road, town, beach or nightclubs. An essential track for any budding traveller.
